From the mountain station or the Rittisstadl at approx. 1,500 m above sea level you start walking west. After approx. 250 m follow the right lane and now run slightly uphill over a few hairpin bends in the direction of the highest point of the trail at 1,555 m above sea level. At the highest point of the trail, the summit cross of the Rittisberg awaits you with a lookout tower and a fantastic view of the Dachstein south walls and the Schladminger Tauern.
It continues flat at first and then slightly downhill to the westernmost point of the trail. Over 3 hairpin bends it goes downhill to the lowest point at 1,435 m above sea level and from there, steadily and slightly uphill, back in the direction of Rittisstadl and the mountain station. About 250 m before you reach it, you can branch off to the left for another round or run straight back to the starting point.
