More information
via the B114 to the top of the pass or the Hohentauern war memorial there is a large parking lot
The tour starts at the parking lot at the top of the pass in Hohentauern, from there follow the signs to the pile-dwelling village. From the pile-dwelling village, continue straight on to the toll gate. Turn right before the tollgate and follow the signs to the Hölleralm. The trail leads along a forest path to the hut with a few small ascents but nothing too steep. The path leads back towards the Edelrautehütte. Until you reach the toll road, from there it is all downhill to the pile-dwelling village. Tip: If you don't want to do the whole loop, you can also park your car at the cross-country ski center and "only" walk to the hut and back the same way.
To round off your day, treat yourself to selected delicacies at the Alpenhotel Lanz.
This tour is NOT considered "accessible by train and bus" because there is no regular connection.
