Blueberry Sea
Bent bodies, blue-colored teeth, smacking noises - whatever makes you get carried away on Halloween invites you to join in on the way to the Wagenbänkalm.
The huge blueberry fields on the Lahngangkogel have already brought many hiking groups to a standstill. In front of the impressive backdrop of the Admonter Kaibling repeated stopping is all the easier. If it weren't for the cozy sunny spot that awaits you on the Wagenbänkalm, the nibbling could go on forever.
Walk in the mountains
Since the Klinkehütte is one of the few Gesaeuse huts that can be approached via a toll road, the 1484-meter-high mountain world is also accessible to more moderate hikers. A trip to Wagenbänkalm is therefore just the thing for those who want to experience the full mountain panorama, but not the full climb. The alpine pasture area can be reached via a circular route. While on the way there the 300 meters of altitude of the Langangkogel have to be mastered, the way back winds almost flat along the foot of the Kogel.
Dreamworks presents
Arriving at the Wagenbänkalm it is as if time has stopped. The rustic huts seem as if from a bygone era. Here you can take a deep breath and just be. With a sumptuous snack with Steirerkas and bacon, you can postpone the way back a little longer. The cordial hospitality in the three huts contributes its part to it. But at the latest, when the alpine farmer calls "Her-do! Her-do!" and the cows trot past the hut towards their night's lodging, it is time for the hikers to make their way back. Back to the valley, to where you will dream yourself up to this beautiful alp for a long time to come.
