A circular hike with highlights
Passing the Liezen Alpine swimming pool, you reach the Hinteregger Alm car park via the Höhenstraße. From here, a forest path leads to the Schlagerbauerhütte - a rustic snack station that invites you to fortify yourself before the steep climb to Nazogl and to underline the sweeping view of the beautiful Ennstal valley but also of Nazogl, Grimming and the Schladminger Tauern with a hearty sip of Sommerradler.
Heaven and hell
The Hintereggeralm was presumably cultivated between 1000 and 1200 AD, and today there are still around 23 members of the mountain pasture who let up to 200 cows graze up here in summer. The alp stretches over an area of 184 hectares and is divided into a lower part called "Höll" (hell) and an upper part called "Himmel" (heaven). The Hintereggeralm is managed and those who have not yet soaked up enough panorama and view here can continue hiking to the summit of the Nazogl or to the neighbouring Kosennspitz.
