Lahn Alm

Admont

Sometimes you just can't miss the signs. In the case of the Lahn-Alm, this is definitely the case.

If you are coming from Admont in the direction of St. Gallen, there is a sign on the left after the Buchauer Sattel and it points the way to an alpine hut full of heart and cosiness. From the car park, only a 30-minute walk separates you from the alpine idyll at 1,000 metres. This walk is a joy for young and old alike, and a completely refurbished log cabin and the Seidl family of the Schermerhof await you at the alpine pasture.

From the farm to the Lahn-Alm

The Seidl family's Schermerhof is dedicated to organic farming. The cows and pigs live in peace and quiet, and the products produced on the farm are correspondingly outstanding. The snacks at the Lahn-Alm are also outstanding, because the cheese, the spreads, the homemade bread and the house sausages are served at weekends at the alpine pasture and are a delight to all who visit. But you don't just walk to the Lahn-Alm for a snack. A little sweetness is also a must, because the Seidl's farmer's doughnuts are said to have saved many a Sunday. To quench your thirst, there is must, sweet must, buttermilk, milk, schnapps and juices. If you like it so much that you want to have a supply of Schermerhof spreads and the like at home, you can get supplies and buy them at the farm. So all the signs are pointing to the Lahn-Alm, you just have to follow them. The Lahn-Alm is open from Whitsun to September from Thursday to Sunday. Tip: ALMFRÜHSTÜCK (breakfast) from 09:00 to 10:30 every Sunday by appointment.
