Radmer

Radmer lies at the foot of the Lugauer, the Styrian Matterhorn. Here you will find nature in its original form: wild; powerful, impetuous and unforced, then again gentle, romantic and full of tranquillity.

About the region

The Radmer Valley is located a few kilometres off the Eisenbundesstraße in one of the most scenic parts of Styria, between the Gesäuse National Park and the Eisenerz Alps. Radmer an der Stube is the main village of the valley. Here you will find a very special sight: the baroque pilgrimage church of St. Anthony of Padua, built in 1602 by Kaier Ferdinand II, which is one of the most beautiful in the country.

Combine hiking and culture along the Habsburg Mile, where you can learn about the centuries-long ties between the House of Habsburg and the town. Four kilometres away at the end of the valley is Radmer an der Hasel, also called Hinterradmer and a stage stop on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine", which leads from the Dachstein to the wine country. Many beautiful tours start from here.

An absolute highlight for children and adults alike is a visit to the Radmer copper mine with Austria's smallest tunnel railway.
