The "Museumshof" Kammern bears witness to 200 years of agricultural history and presents life in the coal and mining industries as well as in agriculture.
Large-scale objects are exhibited in the 125-year-old barn, which is extremely remarkable in its architectural design. These devices are embedded in a breathtaking museum architecture consisting of an unprecedented ensemble of glass and wood.
The history of the people of Kammern is on display in the adjacent building, the "Steinrisserhaus". This provides insights into the development of the market town and shows Kammern's important role in the extraction of raw materials.
The museum yard is completed by a special exhibition about 500 million years of earth history. 400 exhibited fossils (shells, corals, shark teeth and many more) reflect the development of living beings on our planet. They are impressive documents of our evolution.
