This Nordic walking tour starts in the heart of Bad Aussee and combines urban flair with nature-oriented exercise along promenades, forests, and idyllic paths to Grundlsee lake. The scenic route leads back via Mosern and Obertressen and offers plenty of variety for gentle endurance training in the Ausseerland region.

From the Bad Aussee spa gardens, the route heads eastwards uphill via the Gamsensteg and Gamsenstiege. It then turns left onto Tauscheringasse (footpath) and Pfarrergrabenweg to the Richard-Eybner-Promenade. These popular promenades are particularly suitable for walking with arm movements and offer a gentle start to the tour.

A short section runs on the footpath and cycle path parallel to the main road before continuing along the Traun river on the shady Waldruhe Promenade to the picturesque Fischersteg in Grundlsee. This section is a real highlight for anyone looking for Nordic walking by the lake and physical activity in nature.

At the fishing pier, the trail branches off to the left uphill and leads to the municipal road at the top. There, it turns left again. Follow the road for about two kilometers before the route continues along gravel paths and through wooded areas. Following the symbols, you will eventually reach Bad Aussee again.

This Nordic walking tour in the Salzkammergut combines flat sections with gentle climbs and offers magnificent views of the Bad Aussee walking area. Ideal for anyone who wants to combine their Nordic walking vacation in the Ausseerland with exercise and enjoying nature.


The route is possible in any weather and is nice to walk.Wet spots can possibly occur at km 3.8 to 4.1.
There are several parking spaces available in Bad Aussee. Please note that the spaces are subject to charges!
