This varied Nordic walking tour offers an ideal combination of exercise in nature, charming scenery, and culinary stops. The route covers around ten kilometers through varied terrain with slight differences in altitude and is perfect for gentle endurance training in Bad Mitterndorf.
The starting point is the tennis hall in Bad Mitterndorf. From here, the trail runs southwest under the federal highway and the Salzkammergutbahn railway line to the district of Neuhofen. After about 50 meters, it turns right across the road to Bad Heilbrunn and then continues half-left across the Salza on the municipal road to the turnoff into the Almgraben.
Here, the gentle ascent begins along the forest road that leads through the picturesque Almgraben to the Steinitzenalm. A place to stop for refreshments makes this Nordic walking route in Styria particularly attractive. After a break, there is a short, steep climb before heading back a little to the left to the junction with a forest road running southeast into the Langmoosgraben.
After about 1.5 kilometers on mostly flat terrain, you reach the Hallbachgraben, which you follow downhill for about two kilometers. At the turnoff to the S'Kragl snack bar, turn left and continue north to the snack bar, which is open all year round.
In the last section, the route runs northeast to FH Grubegg, through the district of Neuhofen, and finally back to the tennis hall. This Nordic walking tour in the Salzkammergut is particularly suitable for those who enjoy walking with arm movements and physical activity in nature.
A real tip for anyone who wants to enrich their Nordic walking vacation in Ausseerland with a varied and at the same time relaxing tour.
