Von Wien/Graz bzw. Klagenfurt über Autobahn A2 Ausfahrt Modriach bis Skilifte Hoiswirt.

From Alpengasthof Hoiswirt, trail 569 leads us in the direction of Schrogentor. The first few meters are along the asphalt road uphill over the hilltop. We then follow an idyllic forest path to the right, cross a pasture and walk through slightly boggy terrain over wooden planks until we reach a tarmac road after around 30 minutes. We keep to the right and continue along the well-signposted path, which soon turns into a gravel path or forest road, towards Schrogentor, which we reach after a further 30 minutes' walk. At the Schrogentor gate, you enter an extensive pasture. Entering the pasture is at your own risk. Access with dogs is prohibited!

We are now already at 1255 m above sea level. We continue along a goods road for just under 10 minutes before turning left into the forest to follow trail no. 36 to the Reinischkogel. After a short time, we come across another cow gate, where we later start our return journey to the starting point!

But first we keep right on path 551 in the direction of Reinischkogel. First we walk along the fence and soon find ourselves in a large meadow. We cross the meadow to the right below the hunter's hide / high seat until we reach the edge of the forest, where we find the next marker. Soon we have made it. We tackle the last few meters of altitude via a forest path and reach the summit cross on a rock at 1463 m and the peace chapel next to it. Before taking a well-earned rest at the summit, we ring the bell for peace at the "Friedensglocke am Reinischkogel" and make an entry in the summit book.

Now it's another 1.5 kilometers along trail no. 568 back to the pasture gate and the junction with trail no. 36. From here, good signposting also shows us the way towards Hoiswirt / Aiblwirt. Once again we descend along a forest path parallel to some forest roads, which we also cross. Our path leads us (at the Pabst farmstead) along a pasture until we reach a signpost. Here we take path 36a and descend through the forest for a few minutes, cross a forest road and soon reach the so-called Pabstbründl, which invites us to take a short break with "naturally cooled" drinks. Have some change ready (beer/drinks)!

We set off on the last stage of our hike. Shortly after the Pabstbründl, our tour continues on a gravel road, which soon turns into an asphalt road. The path is well marked. Take care at the crossroads: Opposite the many hiking signs and the VOmobil sign, you will find the forest path on the right, on the other side of the road, leading down towards Hoiswirt!

Once you reach a vacation home in the forest, follow the asphalt road on the left over the bridge, climbing slightly for around 15 minutes. Passing a farmstead, at the top we turn right for the last time onto a forest and meadow path and soon recognize the lift supports of the Hoiswirt ski slope. Done, after around 12 kilometers and a pure walking time of 3.5 hours, we have mastered 510 meters of altitude and can look forward to a refreshment stop.
