Root Hopper Run

A demanding and varied route on forest and woodland paths, with some metres of altitude.
The "Wurzelhupferrunde" leads at first past the Kraxner Chapel, then it goes uphill along the hiking trail. It leads past the Jagawirt inn and the Reinbacher inn. The route continues along the beautiful rooty forest paths to the Sommereben Chapel. You walk past the Sommereben-school, from where the trail drops into the forest. Towards the end, from Sichartsberg to the starting point of the trail, you run on asphalt.

Now you walk past the Jagawirt inn and the Reinbacher inn. After a total distance of 2.7 km, leave the part of the road you have just walked and turn left into the forest. Follow this for 400 metres and at the fork in the road run to the right - up the hill. A natural and gravel path leads you through the beautiful forest landscape. You can discover a small pond on your left, cross the Grubbergbach stream and breathe in pure and fresh air. After 5.4 km of running, you can see the Sommereben Chapel on your right and the historic Sommereben School. From now on it's downhill again. You have made the hard climb. You continue to follow the natural path with a small section of asphalt towards Gregerhansl. Now you continue to walk downhill towards Greisdorf. First through the forest, then you come to an asphalted path and the last part you find yourself running on the road again. This leads you directly to the starting point.
