Großklein

Since 1986, the Lierzer family has been engaged in sheep farming and wool processing. Maria Lierzer has learned the ancient craft through a variety of attended courses and workshops. Maria is happy to pass on her wealth of experience and skills to interested men and women. Thus, a felting course for beginners can be attended as well as a course for felting hats, bags or slippers.

The Lierzer family's range is very extensive and promising.
Here you will find an overview:

1 Farm tour
A guided tour of the farm shows you the most important sheep's wool processing methods using old equipment.

2 Felting courses
It is a special experience to learn felting, the oldest wool processing technique, in a course led by Maria.

3 Carding
We comb our washed sheep's wool with our carding machine, which is more than 100 years old but has been upgraded to the new technique. We can also card llama and alpaca hair without adding sheep's wool.

4 Weaving
In addition to carding, felting and spinning, the Lierzer family farm is also busy weaving. In addition to carpets and other works of art, Maria Lierzer is also a talented bed weaver. Bed weaving requires a great deal of concentration. The most difficult part of the work is just getting the patterns to stand up.

5 The farm shop
All of Maria Lierzer's masterpieces, which range from hats and slippers to rucksacks and traditional ribbons, can be admired and purchased in the farm store on site.
