August and Hildegard met and fell in love in 1971. In 1975, the two decided to buy a plot of land together with a house in Kranach. It takes a lot of diligence and work to create a beautiful, loving home out of this old "ruin" for them. August grew up on a farm, so he always wanted to have his own small farm. In addition to his great passion for his profession as a bus driver, he fulfilled his own dream in 1980. A large part of the land was regulated and a vineyard was planted on it. Hildegard decided to give up her job as a secretary to actively support her husband in all the work. Hilde has always been concerned about the well-being of her fellow men and so it came about that the two of them opened a small Buschenschank in the old "residential building" in 1986. In 1989, in order to offer their guests more space and comfort, a separate house was built on the estate for the use of a Buschenschank. Then, in 1995, renovation and reconstruction took place again. The old wooden hut had to give way and a new wine cellar including sales room was built. Since the demand at the Buschenschank became ever larger, in the year 2000 the Buschenschank was again extended by a room together with a roofed terrace. In 2003, a vineyard area on the Grassnitzberg and an area on the Kranachberg were planted with the varieties Sauvignon blanc, Morillon and Schilcher. Since 2011, the family has held the title "Ausgezeichneter Buschenschank" for its Buschenschank. In 2013, the first part of the Buschenschank was newly renovated and furnished. It was very important to us to create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere for couples and families. So this part was equipped with smaller tables. However, the second part of the Buschenschank also offers the possibility to stop by with a larger group. Since 2016 Heike leads the parental business.
