At Rauch-Hof, it takes less time to get from the harvest to the kitchen than you can say asparagus tips. What is served here is always as fresh as possible. Throughout the year, the almost self-sufficient farm offers a wide range of culinary delights - from home-grown asparagus and trout from five ponds to regional cheese.
Idyllically nestled between old trees and rose bushes, elegantly furnished in country house style: The Rauchhof looks like an old-fashioned inn. The impression is reinforced by the generous portion sizes and the jovial service; the establishment has long been one of the best addresses in Western Styria.
It has its own trout pond - fish doesn't get any fresher than this. The trout antipasti, for example, with deliciously sweet and sour and raw marinated fillet pieces, the plump and spicy trout soup with fresh coriander or the tender trout fillet in a hearty quinoa crust with spinach and potato vegetables (Blitva) reminiscent of a vacation in Croatia, are outstanding.
Meat lovers will love the super crispy roasted patty, roast beef in broccoli soufflé with fine pear chutney and poppy seed oil.
The desserts are also perfect: chocolate tart with raspberry mousse and delicate basil panna cotta with a beautifully tart apricot roast.
