Pumpkin seed oil - the green gold of Styria - should not be missing in any Styrian kitchen. In our historic oil press, we process pumpkin seeds, nuts and rapeseed into high-quality oils. Every single workflow from grinding, in our old stone mill, kneading and roasting to pressing can be seen with us. "Oil making" has a 100-year history in this house. In our plant, pumpkin seed oil is still extracted in the old tradition. The show pressing is therefore an unforgettable experience for visitors. With a comparative tasting and a core oil egg dish from the large roasting pan you will taste why pumpkin seed oil is the "green gold" of Styria.

There has always been an oil press in the municipality of Aibl. First it was the Fürpaß oil press, which was attached to the grain mill, followed by the Thus oil press, which was taken over by Martin Grubelnik at the beginning of 2017 and is now called the Aibler oil press. The Thus family pressed core oil for over 30 years, had press customers from all over Styria and oil customers from all over Europe. After this long period, the oil press was closed due to retirement. After a standstill of 4 months, the oil press was put into operation again by Siegfried Fürpaß on April 24th. Martin Grubelnik took over the press at the beginning of the year. Small quantities continue to be pressed, which also ensures that all press customers really only press their grown and harvested cores.

Core oil of the highest quality is again produced in the newly opened oil press. For the customers who buy the seed oil, we only press 100% Styrian pumpkin seed oil. This means that we only press seeds that are bought and pressed by farmers who are members of the Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil Producer's Ring. These farmers have to undergo very strict controls. The acreage, the soil, the harvest and the pressing process are checked.
