Our House

Our former primary school has been lovingly converted into an exclusive guesthouse to provide you with a unique retreat. Here you can relax, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and be pampered by our warm hospitality.

Our conservatory offers delightful views of the gardens and the rolling countryside beyond. The perfect place for a cozy breakfast or an intimate dinner. The 18-meter-long space can also be used for events and celebrations.

The open kitchen is the heart of our home. It invites you to gather naturally. The perfect spot to chat, enjoy a coffee together, and to make plans for the day.

Our lounge on the first floor perfectly combines the spacious ambiance of a double-height atrium with cozy reading corners in the gables. The ideal place to come together or to enjoy the peace alone with a good book.

Our lovingly designed south-facing gardens offer charming and intimate spots to enjoy the fresh alpine air and the Styrian sun.

Our heated pool (12 x 4 meters) invites you to take a refreshing dip in the cool water, indulge in swimming, or simply relax while enjoying the view of the surrounding landscape. The adjacent pool house provides a shady retreat with cold drinks, a shower, and a toilet.

Upon request, our charming wood-fired outdoor sauna is available. Here you can relax wonderfully and gaze into the distance at the forests.

At home with Petra & Oliver

A ’guesthouse’ is something more than a hotel or bed and breakfast. Here you are truly a guest in our home. Petra, Oliver and Frank (an adopted Dachshund) live under the same roof allowing a more intimate level of service. We can always be found pottering around the gardens, sprucing up the house or creating something tasty in the kitchen.

An integral part of your stay and our vision is, of course, the food. No continental breakfast buffets at ‘the old school’! Here breakfast is celebrated as an ever-changing, multi-course feast freshly prepared by Oliver in the open kitchen.

The opportunity to enjoy a three-course evening meal with hors d’oeuvres, homemade bread and wine accompaniment is available to pre-book on Wednesdays and Saturdays for 110€.

During the summer months a small, daily snack menu is offered in the early afternoon so you needn’t go hungry whilst relaxing by the pool.

A light picnic to take with you as you explore the stunning wine country of southern Styria is available with 48 hours’ notice.

The six generously proportioned bedrooms are spread over two floors with every attention paid to comfort and privacy.

Room 1 provides stunning, far-reaching prospects of the vineyards from its north-facing reading nook as well as more intimate views of the flower meadow from its east-facing balcony. The 25m² bedroom with 7m² ensuite bathroom is furnished with a king-size bed, 42” television, air-conditioning built-in cloakroom and comfortable sitting area with table.

Room 2 provides south-facing views of the rolling countryside from its two dormer windows as well as more intimate views of the flower meadow from its east-facing balcony. The 25m² bedroom with 9m² ensuite bathroom is furnished with a king-size bed, 50” television, air-conditioning and comfortable sitting area.
