Viehbergalm - Miesbodensee

A hike from the Kneipp facility Gröbming through the wild romantic “ovens” (Gröbminger Öfen) to the Viehbergalm. Here you will find several refreshment stops to take a typical alpine picnic and strengthen yourself for the further hike to the Miesbodensee.
Right at the beginning we walk through the wild romantic „ovens“ (Gröbminger Öfen), a ravine that separates the two mountains Stoderzinken and Kamm. After approximately 1 ½ walking time we reach the Viehbergalm, which is situated 1445 m above sea level. Afterwards we walk another 25 minutes to the Miesbodensee, a special scenic gem of the Dachstein plateau. The almost circular bog lake is surrounded by a large floating mat.
