Frauenalpe - via the Troghütte to the summit & back via Oberberg
Closed
A beautiful summit tour to the Frauenalpe - a natural snow paradise for snowshoe hikers and touring skiers - with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
A promising and varied hike leads through a forest and on a forest path to the Troghütte. From here you have a wonderful view of the Kreischberg ski area, the towns in the valley and the surrounding mountains. Continue on the marked path to above the tree line, past the Murmelfelsen with its wooden summit cross and towards the Frauenalpe summit. The last part of the route runs over a beautiful, open alpine pasture - where you are more exposed to the elements. Following the evenly ascending path towards the summit cross, you come to the Apollonia Chapel near the summit. On the descent you pass the Bernhard-Fest-Hütte (not managed) and follow the ridge to the Oberberg, from where we go back towards the groomed slope and past the former cheese dairy back to the Murauerhütte.
