Knight's Path (Ritterweg)

In the footsteps of the knights we walk in Grabersdorf and imagine how they just ride across the meadows! Let's collect the letters - riddles!
Starting in the middle of the village at the iron "Knight of Grabersdorf", which was created in 2010 by Fernando Crespo (Bolivian artist), the Knight's Path leads the hiker on a total length of 2050 meters over idyllic paths, meadows and corridors through the beautiful nature of southeastern Styria and at the same time also over a piece of the past. The Middle Ages were a very formative time for the region, because it was the dynasty of the Knights of Grabersdorf (first mentioned in a document in 1308) that "breathed life" into the place.

More information

Detailed information on how to get there can be found here.
The circular path, which is suitable for baby carriages, has neither steep gradients nor obstacles and can also be explored by bicycle, offers the opportunity to stop at a very special resting place: under an old oak tree on the "Reitwiesn", on which - so it may be assumed today - the knights made their way to their ancestral seat (today the Lechenbauer estate) or even held their tournaments. A nice place to take a few minutes to pause and relax, while the view sweeps over the wide fields and you can see the lords of "Chrawarstorf" riding past on their proud horses.

Further on we reach the Gnasbach, where the Ritterweg meets the "Theme Path Animal-Forest-Field", which in turn can be explored as a continuation of the "Höhenweg RAning". The splashing of the gently flowing brook in the background, continues to a small biotope, which invites to observe fish and native insects and to find new inspirations by yourself.

The last part of our hike leads past the sports field, the multipurpose hall and the fire station back to the village center. Here we either treat ourselves to some refreshment at the end or we continue hiking along the Fatimaweg, where our destination would be the Fatima Chapel.

Be sure to take a picture with the Knight of Grabersdorf!
