Schüsserlbrunn from Breitenau am Hochlantsch
The Schüsserlbrunn pilgrimage church has always been a popular destination that can only be reached on foot, this hike starts in Breitenau am Hochlantsch.
The small wooden church of Schüsserlbrunn virtually clings to the Hochlantsch wall. For centuries, believers have made pilgrimages here, especially to find relief from eye complaints. The name of this place is derived from the bowl-shaped indentations in the rocks where the water from the healing spring is collected. The church has already been rebuilt several times and was finally moved several metres in 1974 in the wake of an impending rock fall.
Services are celebrated regularly in the church between May and October, when the church is also open. Otherwise, the key to the church is kept by the innkeeper of the "Steirischer Jokl".
