Day 1: Vienna - Arrival
Your journey begins in the vibrant waltz metropolis of Vienna. The day of arrival is at your leisure.
Day 2: Vienna - Gumpoldskirchen, approx. 32 km
Today you get into the saddle for the first time and leave the big city behind you. You cycle into the beautiful Vienna Basin. Laxenburg Palace and its park invite you to linger. The region is a jewel for wine lovers. At Freigut Thallern, one of the oldest and most traditional wine estates in Austria, which has been growing wine since 1141, you can taste the fine wines of this region. In Gumpoldskirchen you can enjoy the winemaking flair.
Day 3: Gumpoldskirchen - Wiener Neustadt, approx. 30 km
The next stage offers great variety. Idyllic vineyards line the cycle path to the first highlight of the day, the spa town of Baden near Vienna. With its spas and thermal springs, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From afar, you can already see the Vienna Alps, the eastern foothills of the Alps. Wiener Neustadt is a lively hub of this region with a rich history.
Day 4: Wiener Neustadt - Mönichkirchen, approx. 51 km
Today you immerse yourself in the local recreation area of the Viennese population, the Buckelige Welt and the Wechsel region. You cycle past rolling hills, forests and fragrant meadows. You will come across villages where time seems to stand still. Here you will find peace and tranquillity. Nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet will take Mönichkirchen am Wechsel to their hearts. The charming mountain village is a climatic health resort with numerous hiking opportunities. The last 10 kilometers of the day's stage have considerable inclines. A transfer in the support vehicle can be used for this part of the stage.
Day 5: Mönichkirchen - Hartberg, approx. 36 km
From this section onwards, you will experience the green heart of Austria, Styria. Gentle hills, views of alpine pastures and panoramic landscapes await you. The Brettljause snack and pumpkin seed oil are omnipresent. Hartberg impresses with its charming old town district and inviting cafés. The people in the region are known for their hospitality. You will immediately feel welcome.
Day 6 Hartberg - Fürstenfeld, approx. 45 km
The Styrian thermal spa and volcano region will cast a spell over you today. Numerous thermal spas will welcome you along the way. In addition to the thermal springs, the thermal and volcanic region is also a world-class wine region. Typical of the region are the rosé wine "Schilcher" as well as wine taverns and traditional inns offering local specialties.
Day 7: Fürstenfeld - Feldbach, approx. 51 km
Starting from Fürstenfeld, "the capital of the Thermenregion", you experience another day of a combination of sporting activity, enjoyment of nature and relaxation in the thermal and volcanic region. The route leads along quiet country roads and cycle paths through rolling hills, fragrant orchards and green meadows. One highlight is Riegersburg Castle, which sits majestically on a volcanic cone and offers breathtaking views over the region. A lively town with a charming city center awaits you in Feldbach.
Day 8: Feldbach - Graz, approx. 64 km
You cycle along the river Raab through floodplains, green meadows and small villages. The town of Gleisdorf offers rest stops before you reach the climatic health resort of Laßnitzhöhe. The final highlight of the tour is the provincial capital of Graz. The imposing Schlossberg and the historic old town are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Day 9: Graz - Departure
Enjoy the day in Graz. Return journey by train to Vienna - this is not included, but we will be happy to advise you.
