Dragon Tour Teichalm
Open
The "Drachentour" is a challenging mountain bike route in the
Almenland Nature Park, leads around the Hochlantsch, has beautiful views and also passes the
Teichalmsee.
The tour starts on the Teichalm and leads over the Tyrnauer Alm with a beautiful view of the Rote Wand. Then it goes down the toll road into the village. The next ascent leads up the Heuberg over forest and pasture areas. Down through a hollow path you reach the village of Mixnitz with the Bärenschützklamm gorge.
The route continues leisurely to Breitenau am Hochlantsch. The village is very popular with pilgrimage groups who visit the Schüsserlbunn pilgrimage chapel, the pilgrimage church of St. Erhard and the parish church of St. Jakob. Climbers also start their tours here on the Franz Scheikl via ferrata or at the Breitenau/H. climbing centre. Up over the Tiefenbachgraben and the old "Russenstraße", the tour leads back to the Teichalm to the Teichalmsee.
The kite tour is ridden on forest and hollow paths, forest roads and asphalted main and municipal roads. We recommend riding the Drachentour in this direction, as the "Russenstraße" can only be ridden uphill. If you ride the tour in the opposite direction, the route leads from the Teichalm via the Teichalmstraße to St. Erhard (Breitenau am Hochlantsch). The route is signposted on both sides.
Please note: The kite tour is open from the beginning of May to the end of October.
The route goes through farmed alpine pastures. You will encounter grazing animals that spend their summer holidays on the alpine pastures. We therefore ask you to treat the animals with care. Please always carefully close all pasture gates that you cross on the route. Furthermore, we ask all cyclists to stay on the designated paths and not to carelessly cross the pastures.
