Kehlberg

Graz

View, nature, and a long tradition of wine.

The Kehlberg in the west of Graz offers an impressive view of the old town, the rooftops and waterways of the city, as well as the surrounding hills after a short, easy ascent. On clear days, Koralpe and Hebalpe can be seen in the distance.

Historically, the Kehlberg was a popular destination around Schloss St. Martin, which once served as an agricultural center. The castle, which dates back to its current form from the 16th century, was surrounded by vineyards and traditional wine taverns that played an important role in local wine culture until the 1960s. Today, this tradition is being revived: since 2017, winemaker Hannes Sabathi has been producing the Graz city wine “FALTER EGO” from the newly planted historical vineyards of the Kehlberg.

The Kehlberg combines a natural experience with culinary enjoyment. From the Kehlberghof, one can not only enjoy a fantastic view but also handcrafted dishes that reflect the history and surroundings. The location unites the proximity to the city with the tranquility and tradition of the surrounding landscape, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and wine enthusiasts.
