On this renovated mining site you can recharge your batteries and roam through invigorating nature, between works of art from the Eisensymposium (iron symposium), and artefacts of mining and power production.

The site of the Zangtal Energy Adventure Park is located to the north of the Voitsberg castle ruins. The former mining site is gradually being transformed into a landscape park. The themes of mining, art routes, energy and nature are being realised here.

Mining memorial site
The history of mining is thematised here in the form of relics. Leopold", the old bucket-wheel excavator, is a particular speciality. This metal giant made its last journey on 14 April 2004.

The art street
An unrivalled sculpture park is presented here in the form of an art street. Many sculptures such as the dragon Ernst, a pendulum sculpture or the chief king can be found here.

Energy
The Zangtal Energy Adventure Park bridges the gap between fossil fuels and renewable forms of energy, which are presented in the park as a matter of course. The composite pavilion, a photovoltaic system and the SmartflowerTM can all be found here.

Nature
So everything that has not been influenced by cultural or technical interventions is natural. A claim that cannot be upheld, especially in the field of energy production. In the Energy Experience Park, we find a permaculture mound that was created in 2014 by Peter Steffen with volunteers from Team Flower Power. There are 120 different plant species on 300m².

Zangtal Energy Adventure Park is located to the north of the Voitsberg castle ruins, in the immediate vicinity of the town of Voitsberg. The former mining site is gradually being transformed into a landscape park where energy can be experienced in all its forms: be it as kinetic energy, as life energy, as electrically stored solar energy or in the form of energy plants. Old mining machinery that still exists on the site will be exhibited and, together with works of art by regional and international artists, will form a unique art trail.
