Deep inside the Graz Schlossberg lies one of the city's most impressive venues: the Dome in the Mountain. Integrated into the rocks of the Schlossberg, this space offers a distinctive atmosphere with 733 square meters and an eleven-meter height. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it is an ideal place for concerts, theatre performances, congresses, balls, and clubbing.
Especially noteworthy is the extraordinary acoustics of the room, achieved through a special wall cladding. This makes the Dome in the Mountain a preferred venue for music events, particularly in the electronic scene. Since 2019, an Ambisonics sound system has provided a three-dimensional sound experience that fills the space in every corner. The flexible design of the room allows for adaptation of the stage and entire area to meet the requirements of each event.
Conceived after the vision of the artist Richard Kriesche, the Dome in the Mountain was opened in 2000 as part of the state exhibition "comm2000-graz." Three years later, it was a central location for the European Capital of Culture Graz. Today, the Dome in the Mountain is a cultural hotspot and a unique event venue in the Graz experience region.
