Cafe Mitte

Located at Freiheitsplatz, Cafe Mitte combines a café, restaurant, and bar under one roof. What began as a bakery in 1936 has evolved since the 1970s into a lively meeting place throughout the day. Here, people from various backgrounds come together: students and creatives, night owls and daydreamers, locals and visitors to the city.

The culinary offerings are internationally inspired, ranging from Asian-influenced dishes to vegetarian and vegan options. In addition to classics, there are always changing specials, along with small snacks and sweets. Late-night snacks are also served from the late evening. The bar plays a central role: cocktails, aperitifs, and long drinks are just as much a part of it as the regular happy hours.

In front of the house lies the only bocce court in Graz's city center, and the balls can be borrowed directly from the bar. Additionally, an interior bookshelf invites browsing. Thus, Cafe Mitte remains one of the most versatile places in the center of Graz.
