Buschenschank Hildebrand 1888
GrazA real Buschenschank in the heart of Graz
A real Buschenschank, as one usually knows it in the countryside, right in the middle of Graz. The Hildebrand 1888 winery brings Styrian lifestyle to the Annenviertel and combines wine-growing tradition with urban enjoyment. The name goes back to a family that produced wine and vermouth here as early as the 19th century.
The location in the center is no coincidence: Since the 1950s, the wine cellar, storage, and bottling have been located on Grenadiergasse. In 2019, the wine tavern was opened on the spot – where the wine from Kitzeck in the Sausal arrives, is processed, and served.
It is open on selected days. Then people gather in the green courtyard or in charmingly renovated rooms for a glass of Styrian wine and a simple, regional snack.
Inside, historical elements and minimalist design create a special atmosphere. The sheltered courtyard provides a peaceful break in the midst of urban everyday life.
Hildebrand 1888 demonstrates how a genuine wine tavern can also function in Graz – authentic, personal, and with a clear focus on quality.
