Gleinstättner Round Variant 18 a

This leisurely hike shows many sights worth seeing. The refreshment stops invite you to visit them before returning to the starting point. 
Gleinstätten was originally called Micheldorf and was first mentioned in a document in 1245. The Gleintzers owned the fortress and the surrounding land taken in fief by the Salzburg bishops for more than 300 years.In 1523 Balthasar, the Gleintzer, received permission from Ferdinand I to call his Micheldorf "Glein(tz)stätten". Gleinstätten was originally called Micheldorf and was first mentioned in a document in 1245. Coming from the south, north, east and west on the A9 Phyrnautobahn - exit Leibnitz - continue in the direction of Kaindorf/S. - Heimschuh - Fresing - Gleinstätten.
Variant 18a: The Gleinstättner Runde starts at Gleinstätten Castle and leads us to Gasthof Brand on our left - we walk straight across the road and along the cycle path to Affartmühle, continue to Kernölmühle Kremsner, to the romantic Ottersbach Castle - after Ottersbach Castle we turn left uphill towards Burgstallkogel, Grillkogel to the Hallstatt period farmstead and continue towards Tschonegger to Gasthof Literwirt. From there we walk to the Buschenschank Bernhardkeller via Georgenberg to the Georgiwirt of the Pölzl family, then via Praratheregg, Haslach back to the starting point - Gleinstätten Castle. 
Visit the Kremsner oil mill in Mantrach.
