How was water supplied to a monastery in the Middle Ages? Find out for yourself on this unique special tour of Rein Abbey. Together you will follow historical paths along the old waterways - directly through the impressive nature of the Graz Region.
The starting point is the Mühlbachgraben. From there, the trail leads to the 110 metre long tunnel through the Ulrichsberg - a real masterpiece from the 12th century. The route then continues into the Kehrergraben, past quiet ponds and out to the old mill.
You will learn fascinating details about the life and work of the Cistercian monks. How they collected water, channelled it and used it to organise monastery life.

Please remember to wear good shoes - the path is uneven in places and leads through woods and tunnels. The guided tours take place on Saturday, 19 October 2025, and Saturday, 15 November 2025, both at 14:00. The meeting point is Rein Abbey in Styria.
