Chamber music at the start of spring! musikabendeGRAZ play works by Beethoven, Smetana and Debussy in the Chamber Music Hall at the Congress.

A special musical treat awaits you at the start of the musikabendeGRAZ 25 concert series! On Thursday, 27 March 2025, at 19:30, the Graz Region welcomes you to the Chamber Music Hall of Congress Graz. Classical, Romantic and Impressionist music come together in an exciting chamber music programme - perfect for the start of spring in Styria!

You can look forward to three piano trios from different eras:

Ludwig van Beethoven's ‘Cockatoo’ Variations in G major, op. 121a opens the evening. This charming work is based on a popular song motif and shows Beethoven's playful side.
This is followed by Claude Debussy's Piano Trio in G major. It was composed in 1880 and is considered the oldest surviving original work by the French composer. Its poetic tonal language can already be sensed here.
The powerful Piano Trio in G minor, op. 15 by Bedřich Smetana follows after the interval - a work full of passion, emotion and personal tragedy.
