On November 8, 2025, at 4:00 pm, the Graz Cathedral will host the oratorio “Annelies” by James Whitbourn, based on excerpts from The Diary of Anne Frank. Presented by Dommusik Graz, this performance offers a deeply emotional musical experience centered on memory, faith, and hope.
Annelies combines classical choral tradition with contemporary sound textures. It tells Anne Frank’s story through music that is both intimate and powerful, capturing emotions that words alone cannot convey. The performance features Hannah Fheodoroff (soprano), the Youth Choir, the Cathedral Choir, and a chamber ensemble, all under the direction of Melissa Dermastia.
The setting of the late Gothic Graz Cathedral adds to the atmosphere, turning the concert into a space of remembrance and reflection. Music becomes a bridge between past and present — carried by young voices and sensitive interpretation.
Tickets are available via Graz Tourismus and at the evening box office (discounts for pupils and students, free entry for children under 14).
With this concert, the Graz Region presents a cultural event that makes remembrance tangible through art — right in the heart of Styria.
