The market town of St. Ruprecht is located in Eastern Styria and is easily accessible via the A2 from Vienna (approx. 2 hours) and Graz (approx. 30 minutes).
  • Arrival from Vienna and Graz: Coming from Vienna on the A2 and from Graz on the A2, take exit 161 / Gleisdorf West in the direction of B54/B64. Follow the B65 / Gleisdorfer Bundesstraße until you reach the B54 / Wechselbundesstraße. At the traffic circle, take the second exit to the B64 / Rechberg-Bundesstraße. After approx. 6 km turn left to St. Ruprecht an der Raab.

1st stage St. Ruprecht - Almenland (30.5 km)

You start the tour in the village of St. Ruprecht an der Raab and cycle to Weiz along numerous apple and fruit orchards via the village of Farcha. Enjoy a delicious ice cream or simply stroll through the alleys in the town of Weiz. The "Raabtal-Radweg" R11 leads on a side road over the Arzberg with a few metres of altitude to Passail in the Almenland Nature Park, where the "ALMO®" is at home. Beef specialities from the Almochsen are offered by most inns here. In Passail, the beekeeper Kreiner impresses with his passionately run apiary and his honey products. Delicious evening meals are available at Gasthof Schrenk on the main square, where it is always "dumpling time".

Stage 2 Passail - St. Kathrein am Offenegg - Anger (33.5 km)

On the next day, the first destination is St. Kathrein am Offenegg, where several destinations invite you to recharge the batteries of bike and rider. You start at the main square in Passail and first cycle on a side road towards St. Kathrein am Offenegg. After Gasthof Niederl, the "Weizer Almenland Radtour" cycle path runs into the village of St. Kathrein am Offenegg and continues on the cycle path to the Brandlucken. Once at the top, not only two culinary highlights tempt you to take a break, but also a cultural treat. In summer there is an open-air theatre of a special kind. Information and dates can be found at www.huabn-theater.at. Afterwards, the tour leads downhill on a side road to Anger in the ApfelLand-Stubenbergsee region, where the finest products from the fruit industry can be tasted.

Stage 3 Anger - Stubenberg (12.2 km)

You start in the village of Anger and cycle along the R8 cycle path to Stubenberg am See. Along the orchards you head towards the Styrian Apple Road, where the numerous fruit farms invite you to visit them and taste their specialities. Take a short detour to Puch bei Weiz and learn about the mystical story of the abacus and the apple men, among other things. Via the Stubenbergklamm (cycle path R8) you reach the next village of Stubenberg. Along the lake you will find numerous inns to refuel your bike and rider and you can relax comfortably at the beautiful lake area.

Stage 4 Stubenberg - Hartberg - Buch bei Geiseldorf (31.6 km)

The tour continues via Zeil bei Stubenberg on the HB9 cycle path towards Pöllau/Winzendorf. You follow the cycle path past Michlhof and Gasthof Lex - there are wonderful views in all directions; in good weather even as far as Riegersburg Castle. Then head in the direction of Pöllau/Winzendorf, past Gasthof Schrank and many wine taverns. In Schönaudorf, follow the R57 cycle path in the direction of Winzendorf/Flattendorf/Schildbach to Hartberg. A detour to Pöllau is also possible. Follow the R57 cycle path directly into the town of Pöllau.

Once you arrive in the town of Hartberg, be sure to take a break. Restaurants/coffee houses and small boutiques invite you to be discovered. From Hartberg, follow the R35 cycle path in the direction of Buch bei Geiseldorf or to Bad Waltersdorf. In the 2 thermal spa region of Bad Walterdorf, pleasantly warm thermal spas invite you to spend relaxing hours. Here it is certainly worthwhile to recharge the batteries of body and soul.

Stage 5 - return from Buch - St. Ruprecht/Raab (25.6 km)

The return journey to St. Ruprecht an der Raab from Buch near Geiseldorf or Bad Waltersdorf leads via the Feinspitz tour to Großhart. Past the Großhart natural pond, the tour continues on a side road towards Großsteinbach. In Großsteinbach, cross the main road and head towards the Großsteinbacher Teich pond on the R8 cycle path. Follow the R8 cycle path against the direction of the river in the direction of Kroisbach. From Kroisbach, take the L394 road in the direction of Gersdorf. In Gersdorf, the municipality is on the right-hand side, you turn left and ride on the side road past the kindergarten and the two ponds. Continue to Rothgmos via Mühlweg and Oberrettenbach Weg in the direction of the Oberrettenbach municipal office. After the municipality, turn left onto Rohrweg and at a Ypsilon junction continue on Stadtweg to Prebensdorf/Ilztal. Once in Prebensdorf, the R10 cycle path (Ilztalradweg) leads towards Ilztal, Prebuch and Unterfladnitz. In Unterfladnitz, follow the R11 cycle path to your destination of St. Ruprecht an der Raab. In just 20 minutes you would also reach the solar city of Gleisdorf on the R11 cycle path. During a stroll in the old town, you will not only pass the solar tree, but also many small boutiques, shops, cafés and restaurants.
