Hochtor - via Hesshütte and Josefinensteig

The Josefinensteig runs west of the Hesshütte through a mountain pine belt and a scree pass. Ascent via the partially secured south-east ridge. Sure-footedness and mountain experience are absolutely necessary!
The Hochtor is the highest point of the Gesaeuse mountains and conquering this majesty is the goal of many mountaineers. However, one should be absolutely sure-footed and free from giddiness and also be in good physical condition.

we start the tour at the Kölblwirt and hike past the waterfall up to the Koderalm and over the Stadlalm up to the Heßhütte. The best thing now is to rely on our mountain guide, who will guide us safely over the Josefinensteig, which is only secured with ropes in particularly difficult places, up to the highest peak of the Gesaeuse mountains at 2,369 m. The view makes us forget the sweaty ascent. For the descent we choose the path over the "snow hole", here too, surefootedness is required and in some places it is said: No stumbling! Slowly we dive back into the high forest and at the Untere Koderalm we meet again on trail nr. 601, our ascent path. From here it is only a pleasant mountain walk until we finally arrive at the Kölblwirt in the restaurant garden.
possibly stay overnight in the Hess hut and start freshly rested in the morning
