On the hike up the Ressen, we pass the village's own boulder spring at the Narzissendorf Zlaom. A truly mystical place. Once we reach our destination a fantastic view opens up across the Grundlsee to the Toplitzsee which lie embedded in the Aussee mountains at our feet. You shouldn’t miss this.

The Ressen is a wooded mountain located halfway along the Grundsee. It is easy to climb from the Narcissus village of Zloam and offers an attractive view over Lake Grundlsee and the Tote Gebirge mountains. This mountain is also suitable for beginners to mountaineering, although you have to climb approx. 797 metres in altitude. At the beginning of the approx. 9.6 km long trail, you hike along a forest road with spectacular views of the Rigips cable car to Ressen. After the first major ascent, you pass a lovely mountain pasture. From the middle station of the cable car, you hike the last section up the Ressen and can enjoy a view over the village of Grundlsee and beyond as a finale.
The hikes only take place in good weather.

About me:
I come from a small village called Söllichau, about 40 kilometres north of Leipzig in the Düben Heath, surrounded by dense beech forests.
I was fascinated by the mighty peaks of the Alps from a very early age and at some point I wanted to climb them myself. After my apprenticeship as a forester from 2003 to 2006, I came to Ausseerland after the storm Kyrill in 2007 to process storm wood on the Ressen. I was so fascinated by the combination of mountains, lakes in the Salzkammergut/Ausseerland, the naturalness that this region has retained and the old traditions of the people of Aussee that I absolutely wanted to stay here.
I have been actively hiking in the mountains since 2008 and have completed several alpine courses over the last 10 years (alpine touring course, climbing course, avalanche seminar). There is nothing better for me than standing on the summit after a strenuous climb. Enjoying the panorama and the distant views is pure freedom for me.
In 2022, I trained as a mountain hiking guide to turn my hobby into a profession. I would like to share my passion and the moments of happiness that arise on the mountain with other people. Of course, there are alpine dangers that should not be underestimated, such as weather, rockfall, falls, avalanches, etc. That's why it's good to have an experienced hiker at your side who can accompany you safely on the ascent and descent to guarantee a unique mountain experience.
