The best way to plan your journey to Ausseerland is with google.at/maps.
We start our family cycle tour at Bad Aussee railway station and cycle along the tarmac Bahnhofstraße to the football pitch. Here we turn right and follow the tarmac Sießreithstraße for approx. 500 metres.
At the Steinbrecher & Köberl carpentry workshop, we turn right again and immediately after the company building turn left onto the gravel cycle path. From here we follow the cycle path on the right bank of the Kainischtraun as far as the Bad Aussee waste collection centre.
We cross the bridge and then cycle along the left bank of the Kainischtraun again. After the Ausseerland fish farm, we cycle back along a tarmac road to the Ödensee. We can circle the Ödensee on the gravel road and either cycle to the Genuss am See - Kohlröserlhütte or follow the gravel road back to the Kainischtraun. The way back takes us back along the Kainischtraun on the gravel cycle path to the Steinbrecher & Köberl carpentry workshop and further along the tarmac Sießreithstraße and Bahnhofstraße to Bad Aussee railway station.
Why not combine your cycle tour with a stop at the Genuss am See - Kohlröserlhütte! And if the children aren't tired yet, they can also let off steam in the playground!
Please note that trench-like washouts can occur on the gravel cycle path after heavy rainfall.
There are several car parks available at Bad Aussee railway station.
