More information

The journey to Grundlsee is best planned with google.at/maps
Immediately at the Seeklaus bridge, walk along the lakeshore, then uphill below the Mondi Hotel Seeblick. At the top turn left to the Archkogelstraße, then downhill a bit to a fork in the road, there turn left towards Zlaim.

After a short stretch in the woods, turn right and cross a bridge (Urzsteg) to Grubenstraße. At this junction, take the gravel road up to the left, underneath the cable car, past a barrier to a water basin. On the bridge there you cross the Weißenbach stream and immediately afterwards you turn off onto the forest path to the right. Walk along the fence of the water basin up to the forest road, which you follow to the next bridge. About 100 meters after the bridge, at a stone almond, turn left onto an unmarked, stony path, which you follow.

After a while you reach the forest road "Weißenbachstraße" at a willow grate. Walk along this path until you reach the Weißenbachalm. Below the road flows the Weißenbach. You climb up over the alp. At the top of the last hut, the marked trail no. 259 branches off to the left. This leads along the slope and soon becomes steep. In serpentines it goes up to the degree. Here you can enjoy the first view down to the Grundlsee. Now follow the path first flat through moorland, with a view to the Eibl-Alm hut, then steeper again always up and down to the peak of the Türkenkogel, which is unexpectedly far behind.

The way back follows the same route.
