Natural monument Granitzenbach to St. Wolfgang
“The rippling one”
This hike starts at the Granitzenbach natural monument and lifts the mood right from the start with its cheerful babbling. After a leisurely walk through St. Wolfgang, you return to the stream at the end where you can relax.
The entrance and parking lot to the theme trail is located at a somewhat inconspicuous driveway on the left opposite the Kleinpöltzl farm below the village of St. Wolfgang.
From the parking lot, a forest road about 500 m long leads to the alpine rock garden and further to the maple platform. From here a forest path leads over some wooden footbridges and wooden bridges over the Granitzenbach. Several adventure stations invite you to join in. The trail ends at the Schaumühle mill.
The hike continues on the road towards St. Wolfgang. Follow the road Mönchegg, turn right at the parish church St. Wolfgang and follow the road Mönchegg further. At the junction follow the right road Thomanegg Weg. Here it goes slightly downhill to Seetalblick (inn & guesthouse), where you can have a delicious snack and relax while enjoying the view.
The way back leads in a loop on Mönchegg back to the junction. From here you can walk back comfortably.
