This literary trail focuses on the life and works of Hugo von Montfort, a renowned poet, and takes you through significant locations related to his life. The trail offers insight into his poetry and his connection to the region, while also offering scenic views of the surrounding area, often referred to as "paradise" for its beauty. The trail is an ideal way to explore both the cultural and natural heritage of Bruck an der Mur.

The Bruck Literature Trail showcases the "Paradies-Reimrede" (Paradise Rhymed Speech) by Hugo von Montfort, a prominent politician and notable poet of the late Middle Ages, whose remains are laid to rest in the Bruck Minoritenkirche. At the time of Hugo’s life, Bruck an der Mur was an influential trading city, making it a significant center for his interests, particularly during the years 1413–1415, when he served as the Landeshauptmann (Governor) of Styria. The Paradies-Reimrede is an incredibly moving text with autobiographical elements, offering us a dreamlike, visionary glimpse into the symbolic and emotional world of the Middle Ages.
