The Hans Knauss Trail is a run in Untertal valley. The route is similar to the Untertaler Aussichtsrunde hike.
The loop starts at the Untertal-Dorf hiking portal or the Landalm pedestrian bridge and leads over 10 km with a total elevation gain of 260 meters to the Tetter Inn and back again. The running loop is named after the ski racer Hans Knauß, who grew up not far from Untertal in the Fastenberg district. For several years, Hans Knauß was one of the best ski racers in the giant slalom, super-G, and downhill disciplines. He also won the silver medal in the super-G at the 1998 Winter Olympics, the silver medal in the giant slalom at the 2003 World Championships, and the bronze medal in the super-G at the 1999 World Championships. Today, he is widely known as a television presenter of a folk music program and as a co-commentator of alpine ski races.
