Here our paths divide - either we continue hiking on the path from the glacier to the wine in the direction of eastern Styria. Or we stay in Upper Styria and reach the Stanglalm via the BergZeitReise and thus subsequently back to our starting point.

If we follow the BergZeitReise, as described in this stage, then our route via the Hauereck and the Alpl with the Rosegger memorials is the same as that of the hiking route from the glacier to the wine. Only near the Teufelstein do the paths separate. While the route from the glacier to the wine leads downhill to Fischbach, this stage takes us over the Hochpürschtling (wind park) to the Stanglalm (mountain inn open all year, Wittmaierhütte open on weekends). We are thus also on the well-known Mariazell pilgrimage trail 06.

Alpine stage, no arrival possible!
Up to the Lentkreuz, actually up to the crossroads west of the Schneidhofer Kreuz, this stage is the same as stage 10 (see above).

At the aforementioned crossroads, however, we do not continue straight on in the direction of Fischbach, but keep to the right (west) in the direction of the Teufelstein.

This mystical peak, crowned by a mighty boulder, we climb of course!

Our way leads us over a large alpine meadow to another crossroads (sign).

Again keeping to the right (direction northwest) we hike almost level on the Mariazell path (path number 06) on a wide climb and on forest paths to the Stanglalm with the large shelter.

Continuing in the same direction for about 20 minutes on foot, the beautifully situated Wittmaierhütte offers an alternative overnight stay (only on weekends!).

Peter Rosegger dedicated many literary works to his " Waldheimat ", the area between the Mürz and Feistritz valleys, which today is crossed by the two long-distance hiking trails 02 (Central Alpine Trail) and 06 (Mariazell Trail).

A visit to his birthplace on the Alpl, the Kluppeneggerhof , and the forest school opened in 1902 , which could be built through his appeal for donations for the peasant children and is now a museum, should definitely be included in the tour.

The Devil's Stone is with its three large, superimposed rock blocks a legendary place of worship .

It is said that Lucifer, after being cast down from heaven into hell, once asked the Lord God to take him back to heaven. Lucifer had to build a tower from the earth to the sky in the shortest time, which failed thoroughly. Satan had only been able to put three huge stones on top of each other.

Around the strange summit rock, which fascinates up to the present time, speculations are or were made again and again. So he is not only an energy place, he is even supposed to represent an early calendar stone or an astronomical bearing instrument.

On the day of the winter solstice, numerous people set out early in the morning every year to observe the sunrise closely at the Teufelstein. Even Peter Rosegger had his thoughts about this special "cairn".

Since 2005, numerous wind farms have been built in the Fischbach Alps. Starting from the Schwarzriegel, over the Moschkogel, the Pretul, the Steinriegel and the Rattneralm up to the Hochpürschtling there are countless wind turbines today. The naming of the wind park on Hochpürschtling is interesting. In the middle of Peter Rosegger's forest home now stands the "Windheimat".
