We live in an old farmhouse that has been home to many generations. The house was previously an inn with overnight accommodations. We have modernized the rooms to meet rural standards, allowing us to rent out 3 guest rooms for 8 people today. We have 1 double room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the Zirbitzkogel and the See-Alm, as well as 1 double room and 1 family room without a balcony.
Each room has its own sanitary facilities, flat-screen TV, and WiFi.
We provide our guests with a sufficient breakfast buffet.
There are grill places available in the garden and by the lake.
Our farm is managed by the neighboring farm (organic dairy farm). In the summer, young animals can be found around the house. If you wish, you can accompany us in our daily work - even the Cameroon sheep enjoy a few bread scraps, and our cats Susi, Spidy, Schnurli, and Flauschi look forward to some petting.
Historical
In the early Middle Ages, there was a manor located by a small lake in See, which was divided into 5 farms (12th century). See is mentioned for the first time in a document in 1337. One of the 5 tax-paying farms according to Dürnstein was the Pongker (today known as Penker). The name either comes from the Slavic penk- ponikva = "where the water disappears in the ground or kettle" or from the Old High German penk- pank = "sand".
