As one of the most modern heating plants in Austria, Nahwärme Murau not only supplies households, but also businesses such as the Stolzalpe hospital, located 450 m higher up, and the Murau brewery.
Heat and electricity are generated and the plant is operated exclusively with regional wood chips. In this way, Nahwärme Murau makes a contribution to energy security and energy generation from renewable raw materials.
