The Furtner pond has been very popular for decades, whether with fishermen, bathing enthusiasts or nature lovers.
The Furtner Teich in the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park is a very special natural gem in many respects: this pond and moor landscape, which is also designated as a Natura 2000 European protected area, is widely known to scientists and biologists as a natural gem.
Even among fishermen, the Furtner pond in Mariahof has long since ceased to be an insider tip.

Countless bird species love this paradisiacal spot just as much as fish, dragonflies and, of course, the bathers who enjoy the true luxury of life here free of charge. During a natural history discovery tour or a leisurely walk along the circular hiking trail, you won't be able to stop gushing. Water lilies, mallards, coots, great crested grebes, pond hens share the pond with numerous fish and toads. The natural and species-rich shore zone is an internationally important resting place for numerous migratory birds. This is also the reason why the Styrian National Bird Sanctuary is located here.
