The Preberseeloipe at the foot of the Preber connects the Styrian Krakau with the Salzburg Lungau.
At around 1,500 m above sea level, cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find a true paradise. The
Prebersee trail offers an 8 km long classic track that leads through a wintery alpine and meadow landscape. For ambitious athletes, there is also a 6 km long, excellently groomed skating track.
The fantastic landscape around Lake Prebersee, with its majestic view of the Preber, will inspire you.

East: From Vienna on the A 2 and S 6 to Leoben and St. Michael i. d. E., continue on the S 36 to Judenburg and on the B 96 to Murau. From Murau via Ranten to Krakau.
From Graz on the A 9 to St. Michael i. d. O.. Further see above.
West, North:
From Bregenz/Innsbruck via the A 12, A 93 and A 8 to Salzburg. From Salzburg on the A 10 to St. Michael im Lungau. From here on the B 96 to Tamsweg and further towards Murau via Sauerfeld to Krakau.
South:
From Klagenfurt on the B 83 to Scheifling. Then take the B 96 to Murau and on to Krakau.
The starting point is near the Ludlalm inn. From there, the trail first runs around Lake Preber, then continues slightly uphill towards the east through alpine pastures and meadows to the Preberhof – Bergjubel inn in Krakau. The return route follows the Feisterbach stream back to the starting point.
The trail can also be accessed at the Preberhof – Bergjubel inn.
Not only is it a pleasure to ski here, but at Lake Prebersee you can also go tobogganing, winter hiking, or ski touring on the Preber.
Cross-country skiing courses are offered by the Krakau Ski School – SKI & SPORT KRAKAU (
skiundsport.com). Whether you are a beginner or an advanced skier, here you can learn the basics of cross-country skiing or improve your technique on perfectly groomed trails.
