From Murau to the Wölzertal via Hinterburg

This is a challenging, moderately difficult mountain bike tour from Murau across the Wölzertal.
On this route you explore different landscapes and one or two viewing points. Discover the picturesque communities of the Murau region and stop and enjoy some of the natural spectacles to the fullest.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Turn right here towards Murau. In Murau, after the second roundabout, the WM-Halle is on the left.

Coming from Murau via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur), always drive straight to Murau. The WM-Halle is on the left after the double roundabout.

From the starting point of the World Cup hall in Murau, head west to the first double roundabout. There you turn right at the first exit towards Ranten. You cycle along the Ranten cycle path R63 to the power plant. Turn left here, past the place of execution (gallows) over the Kulmhammer. You pass the rest area at the former Humburger saw with the washing wheel. At the intersection, follow the state road via Rottenmann towards Schöder. From Schöder, via Baierdorf to St. Peter am Kammersberg, follow the Katschtalradweg R55. In St. Peter am Kammersberg you follow the road towards Vordere Pöllau. At the Gasthof Gregorsima you turn right and follow the state road towards the Prieler homestead across the forest floor to Knappsäge; continue towards Winklern near Oberwölz. At Wieden before Oberwölz, turn right, follow the road past the St. Pankratius Church via Hinterburg until you come back to the state road at Oberdorf. From here you follow the Katschtalradweg R55 to Frojach-Katsch. You cycle back to Murau along the Mur cycle path R2.
