Cycle from mountain pasture to mountain pasture with impressive mountain views. Or from town to town through picturesque river landscapes. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly or challenging option: Hochsteiermark boasts cycle routes for every taste, age and skill level.

Some of them take you along rivers and through beautiful valleys, others give you splendid views of surrounding mountain peaks like Schneealm or the Fischbach Alps. On some routes you can push your limits and work up a sweat, others are more relaxed and full of scenic highlights.

If you’re looking for a route peppered with culinary highlights, we recommend the Genussrad´l-Hauben-Tour. It takes you along Mürz Valley Cycle Path R5, with plenty of excellent opportunities to take a break and sample some fine-dining delights along the way.

The region’s most popular cycle routes

If you would like to cycle on one of Hochsteiermark’s “classics”, you should go for the family-friendly Mürz Valley Cycle Path R5, which meets the Mur Cycle Path R2 in Bruck an der Mur and continues towards Graz and Bad Radkersburg. From there, you can take the train back to your starting point if you feel like a break from cycling. For avid touring cyclists, we recommend Seeberg Cycle Path.
