We follow the green ‘WirteWanderWeg Webergut’ signposts
We start at the ‘Wirtshaus am Webergut’ and after a few metres cross the main road and walk over the bridge. We keep to the right and follow a meadow path. At the end of the meadow, we branch off to the right onto a narrower path that leads us into the forest. On the opposite side of the valley, we can see the Ulrichskirche church. We continue along the forest path and reach a forest road, where we turn left. We now follow this forest road, following the signposts, always uphill, passing a barrier along the way. After several bends, we follow the forest road slightly downhill and keep left at the next junction, where the forest road climbs slightly again. We come to a clearing with a crossroads, where we take the path to the centre-left. We follow the now almost flat path and reach a sandy road, where we keep left again and hike uphill. We soon reach a bench with a table, where we enjoy a rest as we have a marvellous view. We can see Hadersdorf (a district of Kindberg) in the Mürztal valley and the mountains behind it. We can even see as far as the Hochschwab region. There is still a little way to go before we reach ‘Kitzl’ - a beautiful alpine meadow with a house with outbuildings and a stable. Grazing cattle spend the summer here. We walk through the farm and follow the path behind the barn, which leads us onto a wide meadow path. Here we can see the three farms of the Griesenhofer (left), Kerschbaumer (centre) and Friesenbichler (right) families on the opposite side of the mountain. We turn our gaze further to the left and see the Stanglalm with its wind turbines. The wide meadow path leads us downhill in several bends. Along this path we also find a simple fountain with good, cool spring water. After following the meadow path into the forest, we reach a junction. We take the forest road, which leads us downhill to the right into a high forest. We soon reach the tarmac road which, accompanied by the Traßnitzbach stream, takes us back to our starting point in the ‘Untere Stanz’. At the end of the Traßnitzgraben, the valley widens and we look to the right, where we can see the St. Katharina parish church in Stanz. Another short stretch through the settlement and we cross the main road again, where we can already see the signpost for the ‘Wirtshaus am Webergut’ inn and have reached the starting point of the hike.
