You begin in Turnau and follow part of the previous day’s route uphill again through the Schwabenbergarena ski area. This time, however, you branch off to the right, heading directly toward Pogusch, home to the renowned inn "Steirereck" – one of the culinary landmarks of the entire Styria region.
Right across from the Steirereck, the Bründlweg trail begins. Follow it past the Himmelreich Chapel and through the forest to the summit of Hocheck. At the top, you leave the Bründlweg, turning right and descending westward along a trail to a saddle near the Rührerberg. The path now leads in gentle ups and downs across the Roßkogel and Schreinerkogel to the scenic Zöberer Höhe (1,486 m). From its summit meadow, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the southern face of the Hochschwab. The hike from Turnau to this point takes about 5.5 hours.
The trail then turns directly south and descends steadily for about 1.5 hours to the village of Parschlug, nestled on the southern slopes of the Zöberer Höhe. After passing through the village, you enter the Töllergraben valley. The path leads past a roadside shrine and into the Hochschwab settlement on the outskirts of Kapfenberg. At the shrine, take the path to the right toward the Church of St. Martin, which brings you directly into the center of Kapfenberg.
From Parschlug to Kapfenberg, expect about 1 hour of walking time.
