One of Bruck's three local mountains is the Madereck (as well as the Rennfeld and the Hochanger). The summit cross is at 1052 metres above sea level and the inn at 1000 metres above sea level. This route is very popular with mountain bikers.

From Vienna via the A2 - Südautobahn and the S6 - Semmering Schnellstraße to the motorway exit Bruck an der Mur. Turn left at the roundabout in the direction of Kapfenberg and shortly afterwards turn left at the 2nd set of traffic lights into the town centre.

From Graz via the A9 - Phyrnautobahn and the S35 - Brucker Schnellstraße to the Bruck an der Mur motorway exit. Continue as above.

From the west (Linz, Salzburg, D) via the A9 - Phyrn motorway and the S6 - Semmering motorway to Bruck West. Keep left at the motorway exit until you reach a junction at a furniture store. Keep right through the Bruck district of Oberaich to the large roundabout at a car wash. Take the second exit here, drive over the Mur bridge and immediately turn right towards the town centre. Continue for around 500 metres to the town centre.

From Bruck's main square with the striking Kornmesserhaus, the route leads via Dr.-Theodor-Körner-Straße in the direction of Murinsel up the E-Werk hill and then left into Landskronstraße past the Kuhnes inn and then right up the Maderecker Weg.

Behind the inn, a path leads us across a meadow and through sparse high forest to the inconspicuous summit of the Madereck (summit cross).
