Since October 1629 this building has been the town hall of the city. The late Gothic building was rebuilt after the fire in 1792. The classicist facade was designed by J. Rottmayr and Johann Hueber. The building impresses with the structure of the pilaster strips and the triangular gable.
With its new extension, it connects the city's art-historical past with the present. Particularly worth seeing is the town hall courtyard or arcade courtyard with its three-storey column arcades from the 16th century and the glazing from 1998.
